At Hjerno, we have the position that as a successful company we have a social responsibility for taking in employees, who in one way or another have had a hard time or have had trouble finding a job.
That is why we, among other things, cooperate with Odense Municipality's job centre to find jobs for unemployed people. An example of this is 40-year-old Mohamed Ali, originally from Iraq, who at the beginning of the year joined Hjerno as part of an activation programme.
A big asset for the company
Initially, Mohamed Ali performed various odd jobs, and he quickly proved as valuable a resource that he has now been employed full time in the company. Even in a newly created position in our logistics department, where he is responsible for registering all goods coming into the factory.
"Mohamed basically makes no mistakes and is very dedicated. He is extremely conscientious, and we are very pleased that he has already now become such a big asset for the company," says Aage Agergaard, Managing Director at Hjerno.
New BOM management system
The full-time employment of Mohamed Ali coincides with the fact that Hjerno has implemented a new OrderFlow BOM management system. The items are automatically ordered, but on arrival to our factory each item must be manually registered down to the BOM level in the database.
"We are very dependent on this work being done properly and continuously, because it is only when Mohamed Ali has registered the goods in the OrderFlow system that the order pops up on the screens in the production and then it can be started," Aage Agergaard explains and adds:
"So he has a great responsibility, but he manages it very well. We are happy to have him, and he is happy to be here. "
