Hjerno Tool Factory hires COO

As part of the continued positive development of Hjerno Tool Factory, Jesper Aablad joins as new COO (Chief Operating Officer) on 1/11.

Jesper Aablad comes with solid experience from similar positions in Denmark, Switzerland and Germany and will be part of Hjerno's management together with Managing Director Aage Agergaard, who will continue to handle finance and sales.

“We are in the midst of a transformation from a tool factory to a large tool factory, and for that we need talented people from outside like Jesper, who comes with many years of experience from other industries,” says Aage Agergaard.

“We have set out some ambitious growth targets, and if we are to live up to them, it is crucial that our production is geared to a continued high growth. Jesper will help us with this, among other things."

Higher delivery reliability and efficiency
The employment of Jesper Aablad comes in the wake of a capital injection from Vækstpartner Kapital earlier this year. The goal of the external investment is to double both the turnover and the number of employees within five years.

In this process, Jesper Aablad will be responsible for further strengthening our productivity and delivery reliability by means of definite procedures and clear production business processes from order until the tool is in production at the customer via involvement of Hjerno's many talented specialists.

“Our customers expect us to be able to offer more than our competitors. And we should be able to satisfy their demands. This is why Jesper will help us create some systems that can both support our professional specialties and give us some economies of scale that ultimately will benefit the customer,” says Aage Agergaard, who emphasises that Hjerno will continue to maintain its high degree of flexibility and ability to meet the customers’ needs.

Comes from top position in Germany
Jesper Aablad has a long-standing career in the industry, with positions in, among others, Gutor (now Schneider Electric) and Wesco - both in Switzerland – as well as Riegens and Veksø in Denmark.  Most recently, he comes from a position as COO at German extractor hood manufacturer Berbel.

“With the position at Hjerno I have the opportunity to put a huge imprint on the organisation and launch some initiatives, which will have a great effect on our clients and our employees. Hjerno's growth ambitions require a perfect order flow, and I very much look forward to developing the company further and thus secure future growth,” says Jesper Aablad.

Jesper Aablad is 44 years old and resides in Odense.
